Welcome to Chestnut Children's Events
Chestnut Children's Events is a non-profit organisation set up to help
young children develop skills and attributes to build confidence in themselves
and understanding of the world around them. We do this by way of facilitating Children's workshops delivered to groups in the community that supports the
current “Every Child Matters” initiative.
Members of Chestnut believe that each child is unique and will help develop
their potential in an active community environment. We believe
"it's what's
inside that counts", and we as members feel it is our aim to help them learn
in a fun and informal environment.
On this website you will be able to access information about the various
workshops we provide, either professionally designed or tailored to your
particular needs. There are also contact details, application forms and
downloadable PDF files, with further information.
During the last year we have concentrated on Grow your own projects for
establishments working in partnership with local community allotment sites.
Please click on the banner below to see a summary of
these workshops involving locally grown food and the healthy eating choices for
children. One of our aims over the next three years is to
expand this unique project for the Kendal area with other schools working in
partnership with us and community allotment sites.
At present we mainly provide activities for children and
young people within Cumbria in out of school clubs and
schools, youth
clubs and uniformed groups.
Working alongside members we can plan workshops and
facilitate the event so staff and leaders can participate alongside their
members, assisting them to build on friendship and team work for their group
class.
